2026 Section Induction Experience

Our Lodge will be attending the New Induction Experience at Camp Trask on August 7–9 to learn and prepare for the Order of the Arrow’s updated induction program.

The new induction experience reflects the National Order of the Arrow’s renewed focus on the idea that “The OA is the reason older Scouts stay in Scouting.” While preserving the core principles of Brotherhood, Cheerfulness, Service, and the Admonition, the updated program emphasizes discussion, mentorship, and engagement throughout the induction weekend.

The traditional Elangomat role has evolved into the new Luminary program, with mentors guiding candidates through their induction experience. The Pre-Ordeal and Ordeal ceremonies have also been updated to better communicate the values and purpose of the Order while providing new members with a deeper understanding of the Brotherhood of Cheerful Service.

We are seeking volunteers to attend this training:

• Adult advisers to support the new ceremonial teams.
• 4–5 youth interested in learning the updated Pre-Ordeal and Ordeal ceremonies.
• 4 youth interested in serving as the new Luminaries.
• Additional youth and adults who would like to help are also welcome to participate.

This training will prepare our Lodge to implement the new induction program locally. Following the event, we plan to hold several in-house induction experiences so our ceremonial teams can gain experience and current members can become familiar with the updated program.

Our goal is to use the new induction experience for our 2027 elected candidates.
